FAQ
What are orthotics/arch supports?
Orthotics are specifically designed foot devices that are worn inside the shoe. Our orthotics are biomechanically designed to position the bones, ligaments, muscles and tendons of the human foot.
How do I know if I need orthotics?
Orthotics may help you if you have foot pain or discomfort caused by a biomechanical imbalance such as flat feet or high arches. If your job requires you to be on your feet constantly, arch supports may help your posture. Some common foot problems can also be addressed by using arch supports.
Who can orthotics help?
The Better Balance Store has solutions for almost anyone on their feet. Orthotics can help many individuals including: Athletes, Workers, the Elderly, Diabetics, Men, Women, and Children.
How much do Better Balance orthotics cost?
Our prices vary on an individual basis. However we offer very competitive pricing on all our products and have many solutions regardless of budget. Your feet and your needs differ from others. Simply put, cost varies between each individual.
How are your orthotics different from custom-made devices?
A custom made, or accommodative device, while helpful, will not train your feet to support your body’s full weight on its arches, as it should. Custom made devices are based on a plaster cast or foam impression made from your foot. If your feet are structurally compromised, then the device that is being cast will to some degree reflect this deficiency. Better Balance Orthotics provide the shape of an idealized foot for yours to copy.
How are Better Balance Orthotics Different from others?
Drug Store/Department Store- Basic inserts and orthotics can be beneficial to some, however they offer minimal if any arch support and are usually sized to the standard shoe.
Internet & As Seen On TV- An option for some, however, the people who take your call for a catalog or internet order are not trained to assess your life style, recreational preferences, body type, or age. They are trained to get your credit card information. These are also sized to the standard shoe.
Other Retail Orthotic & Arch Support Stores- While a good option for some, the biggest factor is price, there products can cost much more than the ordinary. This typically comes with a high overhead, as a result of aggressive advertising along with franchise fees. The focus is usually a “get-the-sale-approach”, which also results in high pressure sales.
What makes The Better Balance Store so different?
- We focus on the customer rather than the sale
- We are educated and experienced
- We work closely with the medical community offering many solutions to their patients.
- We are extremely competitive in price, and have more options
- We’re an independent company not a franchise (we buy direct, no franchise fees to pay)
- We offer more solutions (orthotics, shoes, foot care & Nordic walking)
Will your Orthotics fit in all my footwear?
Yes, our orthotics will fit in your different types of shoes. You can use them in work boots, athletic shoes, dress shoes, high heels, sandals, and slippers.
Will my insurance pay for my orthotics?
We do not bill insurance or Medicare, however some insurance companies may reimburse for prefabricated orthotics and or diabetic shoes. We do however accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.
Will I be able to use my Flex Benefits Plan or Health Savings Account to purchase my orthotics?
Yes, the IRS does approve the purchase of prefabricated orthotics; in some cases a physician’s statement may be needed.

I’ve been wearing the Better Balance orthotics and I could not go without them. I had sore heels, knees, and lower back pain. When I’m wearing them, I feel great! I have less pain and feel much better every day. I’m glad I made the trip to Better Balance.
